When it comes to grout nothing brings out quality in tile installations more than epoxy. One might say epoxy grout reigns supreme among all other grouts in terms of color consistency, flexibility, durability, and versatility.
What is epoxy grout. Many mistaken, epoxy, grout with urethane or other premixed grouts, but they are very different. Premixed grouts harden with oxygen where as epoxy hardens from a hardener. As of now That layout!!!!! The floor layout took me roughly a day and a half. From expanding the shower floor size to creating the size of the rug, everything was designed to be center. Notice the rug is center between the cabinet and the wall. The rug is also in the center of the tile pattern with the same cuts all around. This was achieved not because the rug was a perfect size, it was because the border was custom-made in a way to accommodate for everything. Very important, The bathtub is perfectly centered in the middle of the tile which is center with the window in the background. This 200 square-foot floor took me two weeks including the self leveler and underlayment. But it does not stop there.
The showers vertical accent it is center with the very top giving it a chimney look. We made sure the valves would be in the center of the accent as well.
When we did our layout, we thought it was very important to have big pieces everywhere seeing we were half an inch short from having a full tile at the top, we decided to mud the drop ceiling to make this gorgeous layout. Notice the window. The patterns match up on the wrap. But perhaps the hardest part of everything was choosing which piece goes where.
The marble chosen for the shower wasn’t just slapped in the order we unpacked it. All the shower tile was individually laid out on a large open floor and numbered in order to get a flowing pattern through the whole shower. Dealing with natural stone, it’s always different and sometimes, it’s too different, so a lot of tile was thrown out or put in a corner where it matched the pattern.
